- The CSD minor has been phased out of the JMU offerings. Students who have entered JMU in the 2017-2018 academic year are the last group eligible to declare the minor.
- For students who have already declared the minor it requires students to take 18 credits in courses that begin with the CSD prefix, excluding CSD 300, 314, 470 and 471 which are open only to majors
For CSD Students seeking a minor-
Special Education Non-Teaching is a very popular minor for CSD students. This minor also allows you to receive your Autism certificate.
Other popular minors include:
Family Studies
Gerontology
Spanish
Sociology
Chronic Illness
Health Communication
For descriptions of minors, refer to https://jmu.edu/academics/undergraduate/minors/index.shtml
Instead of declaring a minor, supplementing your education with the electives suggested above will also provide an excellent base for your graduate work.
