On Friday, April 5th, from 12:00-1:00pm a presentation will be held to discuss applying to graduate school. The presentation will focus on the application process, how to find programs that fit your qualifications, and how to create a back up plan. The presentation will be held in HBS   G45 .

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is now accepting applications for the Robin C. Dr. Christina Kuo is offering CSD 490-0003: Special Studies in Communication Sciences and Disorders in the upcoming Spring semester as an elective. This is a 3-credit seminar course that is a focused study of  select ted topics in communication sciences and disorders. The course will offer opportunities to examine clinically and theoretically relevant issues in research on human communication and aims at highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of communication sciences and disorders. The nature of the course will also provide opportunities for exposure to research and research methods. The course will incorporate hands-on learning experiences such as literature review, labs, and writing exercises. The topic emphasis for Spring 2018 will be on the understanding of speech, and through an examination of this, speech production, perception, and relevant topics will be surveyed. Summer Linguistics Study in York, England: There will be an information session on the study abroad program in York. It will be hosted by students who went last summer. They will be in HBS 4043 on October 10 between 11 and 1. Stop by anytime to talk with them about their experiences. Also, please note, there was a misprint on the study abroad website. The program is during the month of July (not the dates previously listed on the website).

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SPEECH STUDY The Speech Acoustic Lab at James Madison University is seeking healthy volunteers to participate in a study about conversations.  Volunteers will participate in several communicative tasks in an IRB-approved study. During the different communicative tasks, you will engage in conversations with a student researcher and will be  audio recorded  during these tasks. The study will be completed in the Speech Acoustics Lab located in the Health and Behavioral Studies (HBS) Building. This study will consist of a single visit that will be approximately one-hour long.
