The Speech Acoustic Lab at James Madison University is seeking healthy volunteers to participate in a study about conversations.  Volunteers will participate in several communicative tasks in an IRB-approved study. During the different communicative tasks, you will engage in conversations with a student researcher and will be audio recorded during these tasks. The study will be completed in the Speech Acoustics Lab located in the Health and Behavioral Studies (HBS) Building. This study will consist of a single visit that will be approximately one-hour long.

Participant Criteria –
  • 18-25 years old
  • No history of speech, language, and/or hearing (and related) disorders
  • Native speaker of American English

If you have any additional questions or if you meet the participation criteria and are interested in participating, please contact Ashley Cox at cox3aj@dukes.jmu.edu.  If you know someone who is interested and qualifies for this study, please share this information.  Thank you for your time and consideration.  Your help is greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Ashley Cox
