Minors

Greetings CSD Minors,
Welcome to the Spring Semester! This is a follow up notice for all students with a declared minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders. As mentioned previously, the CSD Department is seeking to gain a better understanding of the CSD minor and would like to request your help in doing so. Students are invited, and encouraged, to attend one of the following discussion sessions and respond to questions on the minor. Group feedback will be reported (no individual responses are being shared).
The sessions will be held in the Health and Behavioral Studies building (HBS).
Session dates, times and locations are as follows:
1. Friday, January 19th 11:30am-12:30pm, HBS 4041
2. Monday, January 22nd 11:00am-12:00pm, HBS 1003
3. Monday, January 22nd 12:00pm-1:00pm, HBS 1003
Students only need to attend one of the sessions offered (choose what best fits your schedule)! If students are only able to attend a portion of the session, they are encouraged to do so. Pizza will be available to those who attend.
You may email Marena Jones at jones2ms@jmu.edu or Ally Anderson at ander5ae@jmu.edu with any questions or concerns.

Special Education Non-Teaching is a very popular minor for CSD students. This minor also allows you to receive your Autism certificate.

Other popular minors include:
Family Studies
Gerontology
Spanish
Sociology
Chronic Illness
Health Communication

Instead of declaring a minor, supplementing your education with the electives suggested above will also provide an excellent base for your graduate work.
